Because time does not stand still, and anyone at the top like Apple is right now, cannot expect to stay there, just competing against themselves.
I don't think we need fear for Apple on that basis. Obviously, there's plenty of competition.

But no one at the top can expect to stay there forever in any circumstances. That's why I think Gundlach's bear argument, wondering whether people will line up to buy the iPad 87, is ludicrous. Most of us aren't investing based on what may happen in the year 2097, are we?
