I hear you! Congratulations!
I broke my TV addiction when I went to Africa the first tour ... Found real quick there were plenty of other things to do that were actually fun, educational, healthy and enjoyable. By the time I went for my second tour, TV was very unimportant. In that three year tour, not counting playing Video tapes of movies, I probably watched TV less than 72 hours ... total. We finally got things set up to receive AFRTS TV, but all I ever watched on that was the news occasionally. I depended on the cable traffic to keep me up on news events from around the world.
Now, I might sit down and watch TV an hours a week (local news).... but usually not even that. I wouldn't care if we didn't even have it, but my wife enjoys watching shows from Korea, as she is Korean. I prefer to spend time down in my garage/workshop, working out, or best of all, fishing, hunting or shooting.
Lots of things better than watching TV. Not sure spending time here is much better ... but sometimes it beats doing absolutely nothing (other times, doing nothing wins out!) |
