All good strong points. LB can tell you, over the years we had arguments and I argued against legalization, using some version of the concerns I just mentioned. My point was that since we'll have to draw the line somewhere, we may as well leave it where it is now. But I find myself having big doubts about it. The cost of having such lines is statism, and a variety of new and bad forms of corruption. It is possible to drive fast on an icy road without ever losing control. All you need to do is avoid "exercising" it. The fewer controls, the less are the odds of finding something "out of control"... :)
