If this situation were true and known, it would seem conceivable to make a high-speed trading program to extract money from Morgan Stanley yesterday at close, no?

a) Load the boat at 38
b) Sell it all at 38 and change
c) Repeat

The way the stock stuck at 38 at the end of the day made it clear that there was clearly some mountainous, market-maker size buy orders exactly there.
