----------------------------------------------------------------- CONSYGEN - Consygen And Millennium Enterprises Successfully Convert Software Package
Market News Publishing, Thursday, September 11, 1997 at 10:06
Following ConSyGen Inc.'s recent successful automated Year 2000 conversion project for the Hewlett-Packard 3000 computer platform and MPE operating system, the project client, Millennium Enterprises Inc., of Columbus, Ohio announced that it has commenced a major sales effort to distribute the corrected software to its clients. Under the terms for conducting the conversion project, ConSyGen and Millennium Enterprises will share revenues from this sales effort. Using the ConSyGen 2000 fully-automated toolset, the 1.4 million lines of code were made compliant for the Year 2000 within a four (4) week period, with the actual conversion processing done essentially overnight. Millennium Enterprises has performed extensive testing on the converted code and has encountered very few problems. According to Pat Kemmer, president of Millennium Enterprises, "The converted code has complied with essentially no errors and has tested without problems." Kemmer added: "The conversion was of a widely-used software package; as it is now fully date-compliant, it will be marketed to a large user base, the first of which is already in pre-delivery. ConSyGen and Millennium Enterprises will share revenues from this sales effort and Millennium Enterprises will represent ConSyGen as a Teaming Partner in marketing ConSyGen 2000 services to the HP3000 user community." Ron Bishop, ConSyGen's president and CEO, stated: "The timing for this sales roll-out is excellent and ConSyGen is extending the range of its marketing effort into the entire HP3000 community. The success of the Millennium Enterprises project is a clear demonstration of the effectiveness of the ConSyGen 2000 automated conversion approach and now users of this software can have the confidence that their software systems are totally capable of handling future date processing without risk. The speed and accuracy with which we conducted this Year 2000 conversion project for Millennium Enterprises is, we believe, unprecedented. We have demonstrated, with our ConSyGen 2000 toolset, that full automation of Year 2000 projects is feasible and practical and that the technology is here and available over a wide range of hardware environments." ConSyGen Inc. is a Phoenix-based software company that provides conversion/correction services with its proprietary technologies. The company's ConSyGen 2000 software is a fully-automated toolset that automatically corrects dates in both source code and data to be compliant for the Year 2000 and beyond. The company's ConSyGen Conversion toolset can automatically convert software to run on a different hardware platform. For example, software running on older BULL, IBM, Unisys, etc., mainframes can automatically be converted to run on open system or client-server platforms (often called downsizing).
