"That's a nice theory."

A nice FACT.

"Rights that are merely pragmatically granted by a majority can just as easily be revoked"

Of course, Canada and the U.S. could start amending their Constitutions but why would they when the accumulated knowledge and experience of humanity (now that we are past superstitious Governments) show clearly that property rights and freedoms are rationally related to reality and are a great way to live and to thrive.

Reading about genocidal maniacs in some old books of superstition do nothing to further your life. Ayn Rand shows clearly how Intelligence/Reason leads to human rights conforming to objective reason. So long as humans can think logically and rationally and are able to forego the superstitions common to the weakest of men and the uneducated...just so long shall human rights and freedoms showcase the progress of our civilization.
