And keep in mind that, although 92% of plastic is thrown into landfills, people aren't rushing to the landfills in droves to get those PET and HDPE bottles to recycle to get rich. Might you suspect that it's not worth the time to pick up those bottles at $700/ton?? After all, you only have to collect about 20,000 empty 1-gallon milk jugs and you'll have a cool $700.
