New discoveries at Sister Pond and Split Ponds

Dianor Resources Inc DOR
Shares issued Nov 24 close $0.60
Tue 25 Nov 97 News Release
Mr David McDonald reports
The several new mineralized surface showings on its Sister Pond and Split Ponds properties.
On the Sister Pond property, a result of 5.09 g/t Au and 1.24% Cu wasobtained from a quartz-ankerite-chalcocite vein 50m west of the ArrowheadPond showing. This showing was also resampled and yielded a value of 4.94g/t Au, 62.2 g/t Ag and 0.51% Cu. A value of 1.67 g/t Au and 0.28% Cu was also obtained from a surface sample 1km southwest of the Arrowhead Pond showing.
On the Split Ponds property, several gold showings which yielded values of up to 1.73 g/t Au define an anomalous sector covering an area of 550m by 200m which is principally in the basal ultramafic unit of the Betts Cove Ophiolitic Complex. A known showing in this area consisting of a quartz, ankerite, magnetite, chalcocite, malachite vein was resampled and yielded a value of 0.58 g/t Au, 31.7 g/t Ag, 1.8% Cu and 0.11% Ni. One of the samples collected in this sector originates from the Cape Brule porphyry unit and
indicates that the mineralization is not restricted to the Betts Cove Ophiolitic Complex. This anomalous sector is 1050m from the Nugget Pond deposit and appears to be associated with a northwest trending fault system which crosscuts the Nugget Pond deposit.
These results, obtained from a reconnaissance and prospecting program, remain preliminary and represent the maximum values from surface grab samples. They clearly illustrate the potential of both properties and
justify additional surface work which will better define this newly discovered mineralization. All samples were analyzed by fire assay method for gold and by atomic emission spectroscopy method for the other metals at Eastern Analytical Limited laboratories in Newfoundland and Bondar Clegg laboratories in Quebec.
