I don't think Emblaze or any other competition is the real threat. Microsoft is the power to be concerned about.

Regardless of technology advantages RealAudio has the market share. But they do not make enough revenues to be profitable. Microsoft can afford to lose money on NetShow and give away the servers in order to compete with RealAudio. Sure, Microsoft and Real Networks are supposed to be partners, Microsoft even invested in the company. But I don't think you can count on a peaceful coexistance.

Unless Real Networks comes up with an ingenious new strategy to become profitable I think they are headed for trouble.
