It's not a strawman. Chinu has openly advocated for the Chinese style capitalism, which in essence is a Communist government imposing strict Central Economic Planning, with some areas of liberalization. In addition, you and others have been advocating for Socialism in many areas of our economy. You never mentioned China. And I've got news for you........central planning is an essential part of government and corporations.........they would not survive without it. So this isn't a strawman. I take you at your word. I don't see Socialism as a bad word like the GOP does. I see some Socialism as necessary to provide for a safety net among the poorest and the down on their luck folks. But I don't see European or Latin American style Socialism as having any place in the US. It's too invasive and it will lead directly to slow or no growth and ultimately a collapse in the standard of living in this country. I've seen it happen in Cuba, Argentina, Russia, and now in Europe. Why do you make that claim? Norway, Germany, Sweden, the Netherlands, Poland etc are all experiencing good growth.
