not on the dole. long time democrats that do not change parties. some very comfortably in one 1% bracket and have no problem with tax increase. most volunteer to help low income etc.

most believe obama doing a decent job based on what he took over from bush. Most support obamacare.

two others (low to middle income) have grown children with difficulties and look forward to required medical coverage for them.

quite a few of my long time friends in boston will not vote for obama. middle income retirees. some had medicare advantage or still have it.

Now do not get me wrong. i have many republican friends plus new republican friends that feel very strongly that obama has screwed up everything and we need to get him out.

i guess you could say i get a point for view from both sides. i understand where the democrats come from back home as i grew up never knowing a republican until i had to pay taxes. g then i became one.. almost right out of high school. i think the only one in my city. ha

what i can not understand is how strong these very rich people and well educated feel about supporting obama. they believe he is doing a good job. I am talking about doctors, lawyers, etc. it is amazing how we can look at something and it is so obvious to us and yet the people across the table see something else.

i do not discuss politics with my friends unless i know they are on the same path. i found out from posts on si a long time ago. you can post until you are blue in the face with supporting facts and nothing changes. I do less posting. more reading and forward posts of interest to friends. Once in awhile if i think a post is too far over in giving an impression its a cake walk i will take the other side.

best. john
