The Wiggles ...

Programmed the Wiggle Indicator ... below are long term daily SP chart (using OI weighted continuous data) and TNA ... the indicator returns a +1 for a sell wiggle and a -1 for a buy wiggle - otherwise it returns a zero.
The indicator is plotted below the price chart.

Yes, the formation does seem to be very rare - the data shows 4 signals over the past decade - and we haven't had one since 2004. If you look closely at this weeks SP data - we did not get a buy wiggle yesterday since yesterday's close didn't quite exceed Mondays high. We did get one in TNA ...

Three plots attached ... 1) Long term SP Continuous
2) Shorter term June SP
3) Shorter term TNA

I could add a small tolerance factor to capture more signals ... but not sure if that makes sense ...
