I would call them and find out. If you still must pay something, ask for a discount.
I learned that lesson. After I'd paid hospital bills related to my wife's cancer treatments, I continued to get bills. I called and said I'd paid in full. Apparently they had different internal accounts and they applied the payment to one of the accounts leaving a credit balance they didn't transfer over to the other balances. They readjusted and zeroed everything out, then the agent told me that I should have asked for a discount. If the bill was more than $250, she said, they normally discount at least 10%.

Sheesh.
