one positive re the great financial crisis

we are blessed

that we are learning much about exotic geographies, unusual economics, less than normal habits, more than usual beliefs, etc etc

at the sunday poolside bbq at swiss banker's place, as the kids played in water and women folks busied with the kids, the guyz drank cool stuff, worked the hot grill, and held mirth-infused discourse on our little corner of the planet and unusual but getting-used-to street scenes

at the fireside chat was me, the banker, an ex-banker / new consultant specializing in burma, and a big chief of french luxo goods (mostly bags - i will never ever understand women) dealer newly migrated from france

the bag dealer sells something like hkd 200m (usd 25m) of bags out of one big shop and has altogether 6 more satellite shops - they restricts clients to two bags of each design

we observe that in certain parts (causeway bay, wanchai, admiralty) along our 30-minutes way to cbd, it seems that every street block has at least one of each real estate agency, luxo goods shop, exotic car dealership, bank branch, reflexology spa, and seafood restaurant.

bizarro world
