Lahcim,

<< My white Nokia 808 is still on pre-order. ... its "bargain" price of $681.26. >>

Good price. I'm curious to know who you ordered from if you are willing to share. I have a friend who placed a preorder with Negri Electronics . By contrast EXPANSYS USA is pricing 808PV preorders at $829. They are always a top price seller of preordered mobiles or mobiles that are supply constrained.

I'm waiting to see how Amazon or an Amazon reseller prices the device and I'm looking forward to initial hands on reviews with release software. By the time I purchase most likely the 1st PR update will be available but I've moved the device to the top of my wish list ahead of a few pieces of audio equipment. In the interim I'll continue to make good use of my Symbian Belle N8.

Recombu just published good photos of 3 PV808 accessories ...

The Nokia HH-23 Tripod Mount which screws into the top of a standard tripod, "providing a tight grip of the phone in a horizontal orientation."

The Nokia DC-16 Portable Charger "includes a 2200 mA lithium battery that can fully charge the PureView. The cable is removable and can charge any device with UBS charging, recharge the DC-16 using the standard USB ports. Available in pink, blue, black and white, it includes an LED indicator displaying the charging status."

The Nokia CC-33046 Hard Cover: "a protective hard case for the PureView and is available in black and red. To touch, it feels thick, yet retains a good grip ensuring the phone shouldn't slip out of your hands.case includes a shock absorbent lining and tough outer shell, the ports are still accessible, but there's protection for the lens."

I haven't seen US pricing on the above yet. The portable charger looks pretty darn good and so does the hard case although there are likely to be several aftermarket alternatives available. Not so sure about the tripod mount. Probably better ones available.

Cheers,

- Eric -
