Unions protect the worker from the rich and powerful. How you can twist that to say they take advantage of the worker is amazing. Workers have fought for unions with their blood and guts for a long time. And the rich and powerful have hired bully boys to beat them up when they tried to organize.

What you describe happened over 60 years ago and was in the private sector - the unions most people talk about today are the public sector unions that threaten the citizens with loss of services and demand more pay and benefits than their private sector equivalents. The unions in Wisconsin are a disgrace, protesting in the capital building, destroying public property and bullying people at every turn and threatening them with violence. They have become worse than the evil companies they faced decades ago. Scott Walkers reforms have opened the public's eyes and it appears many workers in the public sector unions no longer forced to pay dues or join.

The unions destroyed McDonnell Douglas Aircraft company - the machinists refused to allow cross training for fear those that could not learn would be let go - instead the whole company went under - great job killers that unions have become from what they originally were setup to do.

When, tell me when, have the rich and powerful ever been fair to the worker.

If the public sector top paymaster is Obama, is he not fair to all the government union employees?
