A very small percentage -- maybe 10-15% -- believe it was worth it. That coincides with the percentage of us who understand the broader implications of it.

Was the Korean War "worth it"? I suspect a lot more people feel today that it was than felt that way decades ago when it ended.

Nobody knows what Iraq and surrounding areas will become over a few decades but that is the kind of time frame we're dealing with. Trying to evaluate it at this point is totally speculative and while everyone has an opinion, it is just silly to think that you can know the answer to that question at this time.

What you can say is that events in the region have been nothing short of remarkable. Had we had a competent president following Bush one can easily imagine far more positive outcomes in the region would have been realized as a result of the Iraq War. But we had an incompetent fool as president and the missed opportunities were missed for good.
