You're right about Hamels getting run support this year and it shows.
About Halladay- I wonder if it was bothering him even before the Nats game because he has not been the same pitcher this year as in the past by a long way, heat and humidity notwithstanding. So who are they going to call up, because 4 starters aren't going to hack it?
Braves are on hard times with injuries and so are the Cards. I think we hit them at the right time to take three out of four.

This year has been the opposite of what I thought would happen. I figured our pitching would be suffering from a lack of hitting but we are getting the hits without Utley and Howard. Think about how good things would be with those two in the lineup on a regular basis. Our starting pitching is a little spotty (Halladay, Lee with 0 wins, Worley on IR) and the bullpen is unreliable with a couple of exceptions. Paplebon is outstanding and has been a fantastic trade. Bastardo is looking like he might mirror last years effort.

We're still in it and I'm surprised since I thought our batting would be non existent. If Rollins comes around and gets on a hot streak, the rest of the order will be fired up and follow suit because he is such a catalyst on the offensive side. Some of our hitters aren't waiting for Rollins and are on a schedule of their own. I love to see Ruiz come to the plate as much as Utley and Howard. Ruiz should be No.1 All Star selection at catcher.

It's an interesting division that is full of talent and it is fun to watch even though we are in last place, but I have more hope than I did before the season started. Go Phillies!
