John, when soemone told you to build a church . I don't think
they meant birth a church.
I've been leading homegroups since 1973. There are ways around the geography.
That was one of the reasons that God moved me from one cell based church
to start cell groups here.
Cell groups in U.S. don't work like the Cho model. Americans will have to change for that
to happen. But, Everybody that visits our church gets a personal
visit from a hg leader in their area. I put in a key map system.
So, there is a hg that is close.
The hg visits and delivers a loath of fresh baked bread to the closest
visitors via a key map system.
They don't visit to get them to join our church, their hg, or
anything like that. Their motive is just to love them and see if
they can help them. But, personal show of love always gets results.
If they need a church or just got saved it keeps them in the net.
Key mapsystem and letting each hg have a different personality
will cause growth. one of the reasons our church has gone
from 200 to 3000 in 3 yrs. but, this is execution.
We just love Jesus in our lifestyle and worship and teaching and outreach.
Especially worship. NO church is a real church without authentic worship.
Don't care whether you have instruments or not. Our band has
6 drummers and 5 guitars,horn section, harp.organs,and you name it.But, if
the church can do it w/ no instruntments then fine. But, we don't entertain, we worship.
I do understand your comment about korean hg and USA homegroups.
I've wrestled with it for 25 yrs. about 10 yrs ago I just had to admit.
that they wern't the same. The other is working. And, with as many
baby christians as we have it cannot be done w/o cell groups.
I wasn't able to convince them to start a sunday school til a yr ago.
but, now we finally see progress with a good foundations class.
I wish that you didn't need all thaose systems and good execution.
But you do. God organized Moses this way. Pastor Cho has a follow up
and execution that would put most Corporations to shame.
