I indirectly witness the decreasing skills on a daily basis. More and more, those who move ahead in my industry are foreign educated.

Agreed our educational system is broken. But the problem cuts deeper than that - the broader society is also broken. The attitudes and ethics have degraded. Kids think they're entitled and have an inflated sense of their abilities. All that self esteem crap has really come home to roost.
