Part of the boom, bust cycle is drive asset values way up thus making it feasible at least temporarily to built new infrastructure in the private sector creating long term benefits to society even though many investors go belly up .. Right now most asset prices outside of oil, gold and RE in our global city centres are low.. Socialized government intervention that dominates our military, health care and education have helped drive costs sky high but we don't get the same return or innovation which is part of the problem
