I don't disagree. But, to be fair, it isn't part of Obama's identity now (we hope). Similarly Bush certainly had his identity with booze as a young man and had more than a few drunken affairs, not to mention drugs. A drunk is hardly a role model or a proper leader. But as a governor and president Bush never touched the stuff and so I think it's only fair to appraise Bush on that conduct vs anything stupid he did while young. Likewise Obama.

Fortunately all this is academic as our next president won't have that personal history. No matter what his other deficiencies, I don't think we'll ever be having this kind of discussion about Romney. When Romney says he never uses booze or weed I certainly believe him.
