48X close enough for ya?! And ADPT has a 50X ready to go.
CD-ROMs are not dead yet.

About seven of the prototype peripherals used existing bridge silicon from Symbios. At Comdex the company launched a new generation of its device for CD-ROM drives, a 400-Mbit/s PHY integrated with a CD-ROM
decoder that supports speeds up to 48X. The SYM13FW301 comes in a
100-pin thin quad flat pack. It is priced below $10 in quantities, and will be sampling in March.
