Why the 'Asian Contagion' is a good thing.
Steve: Any comments about the following assesment???

I believe the net effect of the so called 'Asia contagion' could be a positive one for many of the tech companies like DELL,CPQ and Intel because of many of them source a very large percentage of the componets from these parts of the world, than what they sell over there. (Dell:6%, CPQ:10%,Intel:?)

Once the dust settles in S.E.Asia, we could see very many stronger companies emerging from from the ashes, as hopefully they won't be sitting idle but rather work hard and smart to get out the slump. The point is in order for them to emerge as stronger companies they would have to invest heavily in technology to keep up and compete with developed countries and hence my argument about the net positive effect.
