I agree. Rand is a powerful and compelling writer as evidenced by the fact that her books are still selling.


I'll say something that probably won't go over that well here, but I think that Rand was an ok writer but often pedantic and tedious. I think she was incredibly insightful about the interaction of humans and governments and it is this insightfulness that makes her writing interesting.

I guess what I am saying is that she had great ideas, but mediocre writing abilities.

and still, Atlas Shrugged and Fountainhead are two of the most important books that I ever read.
