Atlas Shrugged and The Fountainhead codified what my father and grandmother tried to instill......individuality. I read those (and others by Rand) at a very impressionable age. I also read "1984" around the same time and that one really scared the beejeezus out of me. still, Atlas Shrugged and Fountainhead are two of the most important books that I ever read.
