It might say that America is ready to roll back parts of the progressive agenda and reassert the rights of taxpayers.

You seem to be talking apples and oranges. What has progressiveness got to do with paying taxes and taxpayer rights. It would make sense if you contrasted progressive ideas with those ideas from conservatives. I don't know if you are confused or deliberately distorting things. It reminds me of wingnuts who took Clinton's comments about Romney being qualified to be President and concluding he received Clinton's endorsement. We know that Clinton said he would vote for Obama's plan over Romney's even though he said that Romney had the qualifications to be President but not a stellar track record of someone who created jobs because of a good economic plan.

The way the Republicans are taking Clinton's remarks reminds of a prospective FBI job applicant. When asked "Who killed Jesus", he didn't know the answer and replied that he would find out. The FBI agents quietly let him leave the interview. When he came home his wife asked him how he fared at his interview. His reply: I already have been assigned my first case. Yeah right Clinton endorsed Romney, Mr. Limbaugh.
