Paul, private schools charge going rates. They are not subsidized by the taxpayers. State schools are subsidized by the taxpayers and that is why they are so inexpensive. The student only pays up to $350.00 per credit and maybe a flat fee of around $400 per semester. You now can do the math. Take his (and your) claim of $18,000 tuition at a state school, use the costs information directly from the state university I am linking and you clearly can see that what you posted was wrong.

Secondly, state schools do have additional fees which are listed in the link. They are either per credit or a flat rate. They do not charge per hour as you wrote.

This should finally put to bed your argument that state tuitions are higher than what they really are...it is clear how much taxpayers already pay to help students have low cost higher education. That is the difference between private and state costs...what a deal!
