some bears suggest we are in a global deflationary depression that is spiraling lower... One I know recommends LT strip zero USTs and he's had HUGE returns as rates plunged. Of course, he's had huge losses when rates jump but right now he's at all time highs and crowing constantly. With all the global debt and only so much ability to raise taxes, the only real solution is to cut gov. salaries and programs....

I find it hard to believe "smart money" is the tons pouring into USTs from all over the globe. It might make sense for the Fed to twist some more then sell when rates bottom just before they think inflation is certain and deflation won't happen.
