You are no doubt correct if the failure is large then gold itself is the ultimate in safety.

I am still thinking at some point before the demise of the market or the system or the mining stocks (If any of the three actually occurs) there may be a bit of the old style leverage of mining shares to gold.

I am looking at producers that have minimized the need for future capex that are located primarily in Canada or the USA. I thought ANV and RIC may be in that camp but recently ANV did a note offering but that has closed and RIC will need to finance Wasamac when it becomes more economically viable. ATN, CRG, LSG, AZK and HL round out the list.

I think I will add AEM back into the mix very soon also.

All of the above except ANV and ATN have had production issues or lower than anticipated feasibility projections. ANV had capital requirements that recently hurt it's price.

So with the above mentioned issues along with the depressed share market delivering a double whammy, just maybe some of these will provide a good return when sentiment improves and the wrinkles are ironed out.

BWDIK Rose, Ol'49er, uh er gold_tutor, I mean Ingot we trust or which ever name Sybil the beast is going by these days, the Bre-X pump and dumper may have different reco's that she is whoring out.
