Pot-Smoking Mom Drives off with One-Month-Old Baby on the Rood of Her Car

http://www.theblaze.com/stories/pot-smoking-mom-arrested-after-driving-off-with-baby-on-the-roof-of-her-car/

This story would be less tragic if it weren’t for the fact that such neglect/abuse of children is becoming significantly more widespread.

A friend of mine works as a caseworker for the county children’s services agency. Some of the stories she tells me about the children involved in her cases are horrifying. And not only do judges bend over backwards to keep neglected/abused children living with their biological ‘parents’ (often only a mother, because the father is nowhere to be found), but, just recently, an edict was handed down from the state informing the agency that their state funding will now be directly proportional to the number of children the caseworkers are able to keep with their biological ‘families’ rather than removing them into foster care. These biological 'families' often consist of a mother with multiple children, by multiple fathers, and various men 'visiting' through a revolving door.

The dollar is, as usual, the bottom line, and the welfare … and future physical and emotional heath … of the child be damned.

Is there anything more tragic than an innocent child being brought into the world with two strikes already against him? And the main reason this situation has gotten out of control is that the left has spent decades fostering government dependence (and thereby the destruction of the nuclear family), especially in the inner cities. Every time I hear a leftist proposing a new government program 'for the children', I cringe at the evil of that particular hypocrisy.
