I respectfully disagree.

The police, fire and prison officer unions are better at the public perception and frame game than the GOP machine.

Check out Meg Whitman's last minute capitulation to the LAPD for their endorsement, near the end of her vitriolic anti-government run for Governor, against Jerry Brown.

Republicans can't afford to lose their macho law and order, big swinging Daddy Dick, alpha image. Without the cops, firemen and prison officers, they just look pussy-pissy, waaaaaah!!!!!.

At the end of the day, they want to hang the schoolteacher and nurses unions which are highly female and diverse. They do this because the right movement is led by basic bed wetting bullies trying to bolster their images in the world they can't keep up with.
