Hi Hawk, a monthly chart of the spx... with a buy sell signal with a modified stocastic parameter system. This stocastic parameter system is not the default but was in fact implemented after using one of the largest non US banks in the world FX trading platform. It does seem to have a lot of merit, if the resolution of this chart is shaky I'll repost after working to adjust it. A take away is the weakness in the summation indicator as well as the McClellan Osc. The entire move after the Bear market crash low has shown deterioration in a number of technical respects while showing increasingly speculative aspects, such as shoveling out the Face book IPO..... the incessent talk of APPL going to 1000, But in a world where there is no yield people gravitate to what is showing a return. The latest area that the Market is bidding up is Mortgage back securities that are selling for quite a bit over face value. The market seems to be indicting that if the FED does anything it migrates into buying mortgage backed securities as a way to get liquidity to a broader section of the economy and also cement a bottom in housing prices. A firm bottom in housing prices is a keystone element in eliminating some of the deflationary overtures that have been ongoing in the market for a number of years.
