Re: Server crash the other day Here is the follow up message displayed on the site after the cause was determined. Our database server at Rackspace has crashed (and perhaps burned). I am in the process of restoring from backup, but it will take a few hours. SI should be back late tonight (midnight EST). I'm very sorry for the inconvenience. No more than the last 10 minutes of posts will be lost. Brad And the post mortem: Message 28189712 Overall, this was done very professionally. While we users do not like the site to be down, it was nice to at least know the cause was identified, work was being done, and there was a realistic forecast for the site to be back to normal. We were not kept in the dark.
