Steve, you think that way, reason that way, and ask those types of questions because you are an intelligent human being, You have the ability to apply critical thinking and logic to problems, and you do so. That also applies to most of the other regulars in this forum. These types of people constitute good citizens, neighbors, friends, business owners, and employees.
In contrast, society also has many citizens and denizens who misbehave like the savage killer, Desmonte. They do not stop to think about anything. They act largely on impulse, with primitive thoughts such as kill, hit, cut, stab, rape, slice, rob, inject, eat, and drink. They can become enraged at a glance and a normally stable situation can become lethal almost immediately.
The criminal justice system must find and terminate members of the dangerous group before they terminate members of the desirable group. The best outcome is when members of the dangerous group terminate other members of their group, before being apprehended and terminated by the authorities.
That is why I want my taxes used to build more jails, prisons, and execution centers. |
