Tesco back in the news, and a slightly lower entrance price on offer. I don't think one quarter is a big deal. A year or two ago I was too stupid to take advantage of Walmart and Bud at $50, looks similar.
Saw a headline about BAC and going green, and I was reminded of how much people hate coal. Have been astonished at the number of kooks and nuts who get up to speak at AGM's, in particular BAC's, and there are a lot of coal haters among them. I get the feeling that BAC does not have much backbone, they are susceptible to greenmail.
Tried explaining to a friend who is not big on finance, politics or history the other day why I find the Euro troubles so interesting, it boiled down to having a sceptical outlook, but there is a moral component too, that thrift and prudence should be rewarded, stupidity and shortsightedness punished. Actions have consequences and these enormous numbers do mean something. Also that democracy is bad for balanced budgets and sound money, that politicians mostly do not understand business, and that big new ideas often do not work out. Ok, enough ranting! |
