I'm not sure but, it seems to me that the feline prides would help the company's growth in the short term without diluting earnings. The shares would not be added to the float until 2001.

Therefore, it seems like it would allow the company to pay of a large portion of its debt now, thus reducing its interest expense, increasing earnings, and free up more cash for aquisitions.

My interpretation, which could be wrong, is that this offering should be beneficial for the company and its shareholders(which many are insiders).
