I don't know Sonki. Why sell a leader and a winner? After all IBM is making new highs under extremley adverse conditions and that has to be potentially very bullish.

Although I am not one to be overly reliant on fundamentals, IBM stands out here in its current cycle and I remember reading some long term forecast earlier in the year and recall that IBM would likely experience a continuation of its strong quarterly earnings growth pattern. I seem to rembember $2.25 being mentioned. One very positive factor is IBM has over just a few years developed a huge internet consulting business and continue to advertise heavily on this theme. Internet is attracting 100,000 new subscribers per month and thousands of businesses who are still green about the web are looking to IBM for solutions. Their Web business literally went from zero a few years back to about 11 Billion last year and I would not be surprised if that grows to 20 Billion over the next year or so.

IBM is a highly re-invigorated business that has to be one of the most celebrated turnaround stories in this century. I think they have a lot of new products and innovations in development, an example of which is the recent breakthrough in Disk Drive technology that could mean IBM will be a dominant player in that sector for many years to come. The immense volume of info that the net alone requires to be stored should ensure huge demand for high cap storage in the future.
BTW I believe something may be cooking between IBM and STK (Storage Technology). Both stocks act very bullish esp storage, perhaps an alliance between these two would make a nice fit.

In addition to all this, IBM has been building a five month base in a relativly narrow 10 dollar range either side of 100 and looks poised to break out srongly to the upside. Of course there is always the risk of it making a double top at 109 or so and end with a wimper, in which case you would be correct, but on the other hand this thing could really explode and I do have a number of structural developments to support this idea. Interesting other Dow Bellweather GE also looks ready for new highs at least.

In March 1995 I started to get very bullish on the Mexican market and it surprised me by how much it recovered so quick. Continued....
