Why isn't anyone talking about the firepower these voice products need to be efficient? ViaVoice from IBM recommends 160 megahertz minimum. 200 preferable. For true voice recognition software to be productive for the masses, we are talking 300+ megahertz chips. But the public is wondering why they need that firepower for now. I suspect we will see Lernout and Hauspie and companies like them (Dragon Systems) stall in 1998 while the world catches up to more power in their PC's.
