Hi Pete,

1. Falling crude prices is the discounting of an economic slowdown.

2. Don't really care. The real focus is corporate profits.

3. Yeah, okay, that helps.

4. Yawn.

I think the slowdown/recession is baked in the cake and all the gesturing and politics in the world won't alter it and any efforts to mitigate the impact will be too late. Same story every time.

I think the markets are forming a bottom here with my "U" plan as outlined in mid May still in play. My best guess is one more trip down, probably not all the way in making a lower low (the right side of the "U") and then a rally that starts and runs into earnings season at some point. I expect the realization of the slowdown then to hit the markets anew as estimates get cut as the companies report and warn.
