>>>A signal is only generated when both the pivot and/or the 1st support or resistance level is broken as well, is this correct? <<<

Hi Leland. The original data that is generated on the Bloomberg: pivot, 3 supports, and 3 resistances calls for a bearish signal below the pivot and a bullish signal above the pivot. I found that it generated too many false signals (for me anyway), so I created the 'break point'. For me to enter a trade, the index and futures both need to be above the break and pivot for calls and below the break and pivot for pivots. Sometimes this may even mean waiting until the first support or resistance is already violated.

I have barely looked at stocks and how they react to the points and probably won't do so for now. I'm concentrating on the indices, and still have quite a bit of research to do. Even though the current system seems quite promising, I have a few new ideas in my head to test. There's always room for improvement :-)

Take care.

Kevin

BTW, why isn't your name on the Bloomberg message key?
