Keep in mind that the 500 installs a week was only for Cox, and only for the systems in which they've launched @Home. I believe these are San Diego, Mission Viejo, Phoenix, and Omaha. Among this group I think San Diego launched first--not sure when the others came online. Moreover, installs are still difficult and time consuming. I don't think the 500 a week represents demand so much as a limited ability to supply. Installs should get easier with experience and new hardware/software (both consumer PCs and next generation modems).

As for Worldgate, in addition to relatively slow speeds, they use a proprietary browser that is really only good for "Worldgate optimized" sites. While you can view other sites, the experience is less than satisfactory IMO.
