doc, one learns alot more by being a good listner. my comments, sometimes irritating, are intended to provoke discussion. wherever the ideas are 'cast in stone' there is no more life. for a while i will rest on my laurels and observe this market for any spectacular opportunities. there are always some somewhere. recently i have been trying out some demo software for filtering large databases acording to my criteria (10,00 issues and at least 50 filter rules). currently i am tring out 'stockquest'. it appears to be quite powerful and the charge for data downloads, very reasonable $20/mo unlimited or $8 each. what i am looking for is a more systematic way for rigorously examining the best of the best. longshots here, just like at the racetrack, are overbet and do not yield a positive return in aggregate. ray
