I work for a telco and I haven't seen that; we've been buying from Nortel, Lucent and DSC, but every telco has been forced into more aggressive purchasing for a number of reasons. I certainly agree with you that VSGN has no monopoly on CORBA. They do have an impressive client list; perhaps the nature of that list could provide the "early warning signal" you refer to.
