I totally agree. The extreme positions are (a) Y2K will be a non-event and (b) it will be the end of the world. Almost certainly, the truth will be somewhere in between. I'm simply suggesting that where we fall in between can be greatly influenced by what happens over the next two years.

As far as I'm concerned, the reality and seriousness of the Y2K problem have been firmly established. What we do about it, and how the economy and society will be impacted are the relevant issues.
