One more point on that. We don't have our father's army any more. We can't pretend we can wage successful wars with that which we do not have.

The last draftee was discharged Thanksgiving week of 1975.
We have not won a war, not even a little war since.

It is now fair to ask, are the all-volunteer US Armed Forces a concept failure?

If not, why do we now have many fewer uniformed personnel and many more hundreds of thousands of DOD civilians and other civilian security like DHS? The reason is we can't recruit enough to fill our real war needs with uniformed personnel.

I am not questioning the motivation and valor of our young men and women.
They that serve, serve willingly and bravely and do not question the leadership concepts.
But I do question all those new civilians, DOD leaders, and our current senior military leadership who apparently do not know how to win. Or if they do, can't find the moral imperative to state what we need to do.
