Call the Air Force and shoot at it a little bit? He's a governor of a state & an ex pilot to boot with obvious options , connections & influence to call any number of people to scramble & get some craft airborne to investigate this up close . Even if the military had advised him to "stay away" in the face of the most monumentus occurence in human history & a civilian i would have given him more praise to yield to his natural curiosity & draw upon those assets at his command . Given the outcome & now writing a book or whatever yrs later , his believability is just a little shot . Another "night sky" event in AZ , they never end but this one lasted an hour , what a shame nobody took a closer look with all that time ? Hmmm ?
