It's all academic. The Syrian rebels are already receiving arms from Qatar, Saudis, Libyans and others. They rebels won't lack for bullets.

The conflict doesnt need us. And neither side is "our" team. The longer the civil war goes on the better for our interests.

Meanwhile Assad is seriously weakened. Too busy blasting his an cities to be much help to Iran. That also serves our interests.

All in all a fine war to watch from a safe distance.
