Steve, re: "If you say the wars were not keynes type spending programs, I'll be happy to argue that fact with you." Sending plane loads of cash to evaporate in Iraq or to enrich corrupt Iraqi politicians and multi national corporations might have been a little more stimulative of the Iraqi and the world economy than our own. I'm not saying that buying tanks, bullets and paying for medical care for wounded soldiers didn't stimulate our economy, but spending that money here on roads, bridges, or just giving it away would have been much more effective.
