Well...aren't you just bright now?
We are not normal in some ways. Many of us scorn superstition, for instance. But my comment was "Normal people have all of those things!". And that was referring to purpose, meaning, morality, and hope.
So your glib comment (while somewhat cute)--was misleading and without merit.
One does not require a belief in magic or superstition in order to enjoy the gift of life. But arrogance and clinging to childish notions will undoubtedly impede the attainment of those character virtues.
Many things are not normal, btw. Sometimes it is very very good to not be normal. Sometimes it is very very bad. This is an example of very very bad.
Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass.
Teaching your children about the virtues of Science and the Truth of Evolution is normal educational practice and is very very good. |
